In October 2006, Stephen and Rebecca with Benjamin, Lachlan and Tristan moved to Santiago, Chile.
In Chile, they will work with the Anglican Church, helping to train ministers and lay leaders. Stephen has been invited to teach at the Centre for Pastoral Studies or CEP (Centro de Estudios Pastorales), a small Bible college which opened in 2003. The Anglican Church in Chile is enthusiastic, Bible-based and growing, but has a significant shortage of trained leaders. The CEP was formed to meet this need, but its long-term goal is to train Christian workers from other South American countries as well.
During their first twelve months, Stephen and Rebecca will be spending most os their time learning Spanish and starting to understand Chilean culture. Ben and Lachlan are going to a local Spanish speaking school.
