David and Bronwyn Shead with children Nathaniel, Joumana and Rohan, have been Church Missionary Society (CMS) missionaries in Slovenia since 1999. David and Bronwyn originally went to work among university students in the capital city, Ljubljana. However, the extremely poor state of the evangelical churches in the city made it necessary for them to change their focus after a few years. So in 2004, together with a small group of Slovene Christians, they founded and registered a new church, the "Reformirana Evangelijska Cerkev" or Reformed Evangelical Church (REC- pronounced "rets"). REC is now under the care of a Slovene pastor, Peter Novak, so the Sheads will be returning to Australia in July this year. Until then David is focussing on producing Christian resources in Slovene which will be of benefit to the church in the future.
